OpenAI Heats Up Competition with Google

The recent US decision to claim that Google’s search dominance is illegal is seen as a win for regulators and this change in market tendency.

However, artificial intelligence applications, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, are already putting competition in Google’s market share and future growth. Another ex-Google engineer, Arvind Jain, also stated that the recent ruling is not as much a threat to Google as AI, and the latter is transforming search products.

Likewise, Apple entered the AI market relatively recently and decided to integrate ChatGPT into its next devices with the help of OpenAI.

The availability of OpenAI’s SearchGPT, an AI-based search engine that can give immediate access to internet information, also extended the competition.

Experts assume that if the situation turns into a negative decision regarding Google’s search monopolism, it may intensify its transition to the provision of AI-based search services. The above alteration highlights that large technology firms need to change their strategies to fit the new market environment and maintain their supremacy.

This new role of AI in search has disrupted the market to a certain level as it emerges in the field. Experts have regarded AI as a threat that may interfere with Google’s absolute dominance in the market, which is compatible with the present shifts in regulation.

This criticism is thought to be owed to the current market condition so as not to have Google monopolize the market as it is currently doing.

However, there are positive aspects regarding the possibility of expanding the number of players in the search market, which will help consumers choose more.

As we have seen, it is not easy to overthrow Google from the throne of the search domain, and this can only be done systematically.

Thus, entering this market and becoming a successful player will take time, hard work, and creativity. This underlines the importance of providing strategic planning and constant invention of the search market.
