Eligible Smartphones for the Latest Google Pixel Update
Google Pixel Phones have started rolling out the August 2024 security patches that fix critical issues and improve the system’s stability. The New Android 14 security patch was released on Tuesday. And aims to fix several security vulnerabilities that have been categorized under high criticality. This update aims to enhance device performance by addressing issues such as screen flicker and persistent boot loops reported by some users.
The Pixel Update bulletin for August reveals that the security patch includes 11 fixes as of August 1 and 35 fixes as of August 5. This patch addresses issues that lead to privilege escalation and unauthorized root access. It also fixes a screen flicker problem under some circumstances and a boot loop after a factory reset. Other changes were made to the UI to improve the transition between the lock screen and home screen.
The August Security Patch is available as an OTA update for Pixel devices. It can also be downloaded from the Android website. This update comes after the company released the August 2024 security patch for Google smartwatches, such as the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2.
