Logo Design Contest for International Volunteer Year 2026 Now Open

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) invites individuals aged 18 and above to participate in a global logo design competition for the International Volunteer Year 2026 (IVY 2026).

The United Nations has declared 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development. This significant year provides a platform to honor and celebrate the invaluable contributions of volunteers worldwide.

The IVY 2026 logo should visually represent the core message of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/RES/78/127, which recognizes volunteerism as a crucial force in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

“We are excited to launch this global competition to design the official logo for IVY 2026,” says Toily Kurbanov, Executive Coordinator of UNV. “Our goal is to create a symbol that powerfully captures the spirit and dedication of volunteers around the world.”

Familiarize yourself with volunteerism and IVY 2026 by reviewing the UNGA resolution A/RES/78/127, exploring UNV stories from 170 countries, and accessing the UNV Knowledge Portal on Volunteerism.

Design Guidelines:

¾    Create a unique and creative logo that effectively conveys the message of IVY 2026.

¾    Ensure the logo is adaptable for various uses and easily reproduced across different media.

¾    The design should be visually clear, legible, and impactful at different sizes.

Submission:

¾    Submit your logo design in letter size format (21.5 cm × 28 cm).

¾    Ensure the design is high-resolution (300 dpi) and the file size does not exceed 10 MB.

¾    Accepted file formats: pdf, jpeg, jpg, png, tif, tiff, ai, eps.

¾    Send your logo design to ivy.logo@unv.org along with the following:

•       A brief statement (maximum 100 words) explaining how your design reflects the meaning of IVY 2026.
•       A written confirmation that the design is original and your own creation.

Submission Deadline: All submissions must be received by 12 January 2025, 1:00 PM Central European Time (CET).

How to Win

A panel of judges from UNV will select the winning logo based on its creativity, relevance to IVY 2026, and overall effectiveness.

What’s in it for the Winner?

The winner will receive a special award and gain international recognition through various UNV platforms and other channels.
